Melissa Dooley Johnson
  • Profile:  Although Melissa Dooley Johnson was born in New York, she grew up in Reno. She is a graduate of McQueen High School. During her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, Melissa studied for one year at the Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso in Valparaiso, Chile, as a foreign exchange student. Following graduation from Cornell, she attended Willamette University College of Law and the Atkinson School of Management, where she received her J.D., with honors, and her M.B.A. in Business Administration, with highest honors. Upon graduation from Willamette University, Melissa served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable James W. Hardesty at the Second Judicial District Court, in Reno, Washoe County, Nevada. Melissa then served as a judicial law clerk to Justice James W. Hardesty at the Nevada Supreme Court following his election to the Nevada Supreme Court. Following her clerkship, Melissa pursued her LL.M. in Taxation at New York University School of Law. Melissa joined Maupin, Cox & LeGoy in 2006 where she practices in the areas of estate planning, taxation, probate and trust administration.
